I ran a software agency for 15 years. And for 15 years, I saw the same tragedy play out in almost every project.

Tools like Jira, Asana, and ClickUp are essentially fancy to-do lists. They are static. They assume that if you write "Finish by Friday," it will happen.
They don't know that Mike is slower at Python than Sarah. They don't know that Task A is blocked by Task B. They don't know that adding a new feature today ripples through the schedule and pushes the launch by 4 days.
So, the Project Manager becomes a "human calculator," spending their nights manually updating dates in a desperate attempt to keep the map matching the territory.
